Welcome Little Levi Pontarelli!

My best friend from high school, Jamie, and her wonderful husband Chris just had their first lil' one- LEVI JAMES PONTARELLI!

This precious boy was born yesterday in Ponte Vedra and I couldn't help but share a few newborn shots of this cutie!  I wish I could be there to meet their new addition but thanks to LeAna I'm able to share these adorable pics with you.
He's already got a little personality- Jamie I think this is you coming through :)

Dallas, Kentucky, South Carolina

Yes, Todd and I have been to these 3 pieces in the past 48 hours.  We traveled to Kentucky for the Auburn game last weekend and took in some horse racing and bourbon tours while we were there.  We had a blast and enjoyed our little mini vacation for a long weekend!  I promise to post some pictures of the weekend soon but for right now I'm without a camera cord and at a conference in the fun city below.  Todd is off to Greenville, South Carolina for his usually business trip but Friday we'll be back in Atlanta for a brief 24 hours- what can I say, we are traveling gypsies.

This weekend we are off to Auburn to see the Tigers take on the Razorbacks but..........even BETTER is that we get to see some of my wonderful family.  Jewels, Jeff, Gracie and Callie- aunt, uncle and cousins are visiting for the game and for a little "college visit/analysis".  My brilliant, gorgeous, sweet as pie and multi-talented cousin- Callie, is a senior and is trying to decide where to spend her next 4 years.

Home Renovations: Living Room

I know I have mentioned several times that we have been doing some home renovations but without pictures it is sometimes hard to picture exactly what we started with and where we have come.  This is by no means a before and after glimpse but more of a before and in-between shot.  There are still a lot of things that I want to add to this room but all of it comes with time.

In 50 words or less here is what we've changed: ripped out carpet and installed hardwood floors, painted- the ceiling, walls, trim and windows, switched out the blinds, changed out the electrical,, bought new furniture and adopted a rug, coffee table and artwork.  The chairs, end table (curvy) and ottoman we found at an estate sale for $67!

Mom- here are the long awaited pics just for you :)

How We Found It

Bye Bye Carpet (full of smoke and cat hair)

Half-way there!

The chairs we found at the estate sale are getting a little bit of a makeover with new upholstery!  Check out THIS fabulous website for some budget friendly fabric.  They have a ton of styles and the customer service is excellent!

Pardon the mess on the floor in the photos.  I'm working on a photo wall for our master bedroom.

Happy Weekend

Sorry for the lack of blogging....my goal to keep this little page updated has been somewhat of a struggle as we do not currently have internet at our house.  BUT- that will all be changing because we're getting cable and internet today!!  While I am excited, hence the 2 exclamation points, I think Todd is even more happy.  Four letters describe his happiness....ESPN.  Why no cable and internet until now you may ask?

Before we got married Todd and I ran over and over different budget scenarios and what we thought was a must and what was optional.  Cable ended up being one of those items that we thought could be optional and help us save more.  Believe me- we have saved a lot being non-cable viewers and have enjoyed spending our time working on the house, out and about and conversations without "background noise".  HOWEVER- we are avid (some would say excessive) Auburn fans and before we got married we agreed that we would get cable during football season only and then cancel our service.  We postponted getting internet as well because we didn't want to be charged 2 service fees for installation, thus the minimal blogging.

Hurray for AT&T U-Verse and the most wonderful invention called the DVR that are being installed as we speak!

Other than our new additions of tv and internet, we've been busy with trips to Auburn, hanging blinds (thank the good heavens!), enjoying some fun on a dime (more on that to come) and continuing our home renovations.  **Mom- I promise I will take pictures of the house this weekend and post them so that you can see progress :) **

Disclaimer- My mom is a very visual preson and does not like posts void of pictures.

Happy weekend everyone!

Gum Surgergy = Lack of Mingling

Sorry for the delay, due to some gum surgery this past week we haven’t been doing much “mingling”. I’ve been down and out for the last several days but here is what our little household has been up to (and what we are looking forward to)!

Auburn Football!!

Auburn started off the season on a good foot and has now continued to 2-0. The McKnights will be setting up camp in Auburn this weekend as we watch our Tigers take on Clemson. I’m pretty excited for this crew to be in good ole AU for the game……

We’ve also been doing a lot of yard work, painting (bedroom and bathroom finished!), cleaning, unpacking (still…and we’re still a work in progress), home depot field trips and for me eating only soft foods that require no chewing activity.

Yes, Milkshakes, yogurt, macaroni and cheese, this has been my diet for the last 4 days and will be for another week or so.  I have the best husband in the world who has been taking great care of me and making sure that I ice my swollen face and take it easy on the couch.  We promise to be back soon with some actual "minglings" and updates on the house!

And the Renovations Continue......

Our home renovations are on-going and this weekend was certainly not devoid of paintbrushes, taping and rug cleaning. With some serious will power we finished painting 2 more rooms! Our guest bath and one of our guest bedrooms now have paint on the walls and we only have trim left to paint.

Our guest bedroom will be cheery for sure with this lovely green color. It’s Baize Green from Sherwin Williams. I love that it is cheery and will go great with the new white wood blinds that will be installed (hopefully soon). I’m itching to paint Todd’s childhood bed that will go in this room but I’ve been met with some opposition from its former occupant. Hopefully I can convince him that paint is a beautiful thing.

We painted the guest bathroom more of a neutral since almost all of our rooms have distinctive colors. The color is Tony Taupe from Sherwin Williams as well. I am realizing that with darker colors it sometimes requires 2 coats of paint to make sure none of the primer is showing through. I really like this color and thinking our chocolate and mint green towels are going to love their new home. I’ll post some pictures of the new spaces soon as I am hoping to get some pictures of them tonight.

In other news WEST ELM I love you I really do, BUT, if you could please go ahead and ship my deconstructed rose pillow I would greatly appreciate it. I ordered this wonderful pillow over a week ago and it still hasn’t even shipped! I received the insert yesterday but sadly it is still sitting in its box with no place to go. Here is how our master bedroom bedding is shaping up!

Our 1st Mingling....Welcome to Blog Land!

With slight hesitation I have decided to enter the blog world, yikes!  I have loved reading the blogs of friends and family over the past months and thought that this might be an easy way to keep everyone updated on our lives and happenings.  I can’t promise that you will find an exciting topic each time you visit but I will try to keep the blog updated as frequently as I can with our little lives Without driving everyone NUTS here is an overview of our little life in a nutshell:

I am a young, newly married gal who married her best friend on June 12, 2010!  We are loving life and learning more as each day passes how to be our own little family.  We are people persons to the ninth degree and love to host friends and family and be surrounded by those we love.

We live in Atlanta, Georgia and our new little home purchase occupies the majority of our time.  You name the house project and we’ve probably done it.  I’m sure this blog will have multiple posts of DIY house projects.  When you buy a house built in 1967 what can you expect?

When we aren’t working on the house you can usually find us at a friend’s wedding, in our favorite place…. AUBURN, and spending time with family and friends.

Here’s to the 1st blog post, may I actually keep this updated and entertaining!
