April Showers Bring May Flowers...or Vegetables

Have I ever mentioned that our home has a garden?  This is a feature that scored big points with Todd when we moved in, I could probably have cared less.  I didn't grow up harvesting my own veggies (that's why you have Publix) but Todd did and LOVES it.  So, after a little lot of persuasian he won me over and we decided to start our own garden this summer.

Keep in mind the garden that we inherited wasn't exactly in tip-top shape, but more like a pefect habitat of weeds, ivy & random bamboo like trees/vines that wrapped themselves around our pretty newly-discovered dogwoods.

After cutting down trees, spraying a bazillion gallons of round-up, raking up "nastyness", pulling out roots, tilling up the soil and purchasing manure (sick!) and planting 39 veggie plants- we now have a pretty little garden that is I'm hoping will produce lots of fun produce for the summer.

Bottom line: if you need tomatoes, peppers (any kind), zuchinni, squash, watermelons or anything else just take a trip to McKnight family farms to pick up your fresh produce :)
